Join us on Sunday, October 15 for a special guest speaker, Dr. Charles Johnson.

Professor Emeritus Charles Johnson was the Grace M. Pollock Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Washington. 

Professor Johnson is the author of at least 25 books, numerous short stories, screen-and-teleplays, and essays.  He has addressed the issues of black life and race in America for decades. The Cambridge Guide to Literature in English says that Johnson’s works “combine historical accuracy, parable, and elements of the fantastic in rendering the experience of African Americans.”

He is also a professional cartoonist, international lecturer, and for 20 years served as fiction editor of Seattle Review.

Dr. Johnson will be speaking on the topic of: "What ten words of wisdom would you share with you grandchildren?"

Dr. Johnson will be speaking at the 10:00am Sunday Service, as well as an after-service discussion with attendees in-person and via Zoom. Questions will be taken live, and you can also submit questions in advance via this form.
